Transportation Division
The Transportation Division is committed to providing safe and
orderly prisoner transport to and from hospitals, medical appointments,
courts, state mental hospitals, prisoner educational facilities,
contract jails, satellite jails and the Texas Department of
Criminal Justice (TDCJ). We demonstrate our commitment to this
mission with dedicated professionals who have successfully passed
all written and practical Texas Department of Public Safety
licensing examinations for Class B, or greater, commercial motor
vehicle driver’s license’s.
The Transportation Division is equipped to accommodate handicapped
prisoners and has the capability of transporting as many as
347 prisoners at one time. The Transportation Division fleet
consists of ten vans and five busses. The fleet also has a civilian transport bus which is used in transporting civilians participating in various County sponsored activity such as the Citizen's Police Academy. All Transportation Division vehicles are air-conditioned,
professionally marked, regularly serviced and designed for deputy,
public and prisoner safety. The Transportation Division’s
headquarters and motor pool operations are located at 601 Lockwood,
Houston Texas.
