Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, I am pleased to make available a public service to the community at-large. This program, called the Sheriff’s Office Speaker’s Forum, is intended to equip Harris County residents with accurate and timely information about Sheriff’s Office activities, provided directly by members of the Sheriff’s Command Staff, or other designated representatives. By virtue of their positions, members of the Command Staff are able to provide insight into Sheriff’s Office operations much better than a 30-second sound bite or a brief editorial.
Upon request and when available, representatives of the Sheriff’s Office will attend community meetings. It is my hope that such direct communication with the community will enable the members of the Sheriff’s Office to better address issues of importance to Harris County residents and will foster a better understanding of Sheriff’s Office activities and responsibilities.
The Sheriff’s Office Speaker’s Forum is coordinated through the Public Information Office of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. To request a speaker, citizens can fill out and submit the on-line “Speaker’s Request Form” by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. Citizens may also contact our Public Information Office by telephone at (713) 755-3647 to request a speaker or to ask questions about the Speaker’s Forum. When requesting a speaker, citizens will be asked to provide basic information about their organization’s event, such as the date, time, location, audience, and topics to be addressed. This information is required by the Public Information Office to select the appropriate speaker and for scheduling purposes. I am confident this service will help the Sheriff’s Office better serve the citizens of Harris County, and that it will prove beneficial to all involved.
