Rape Aggression Defense
On
a daily basis, women are subject to violent crime such as
assault, sexual assault (rape), and murder.
Annually, nearly 100,000 women report being a victim
of sexual assault.
In 1998, over 1500 sexual assaults were reported in Harris
County
Significant numbers of women do not report sexual assault
or attempted sexual assault. This number may be as high as
90%
R.A.D. is not traditional martial arts training
R.A.D. is based on:

Personal weapons of the body and target areas
Starts slowly, covers verbalization, stances, blocking,
striking, kicking, and ground defense
What
is the R.A.D. System?
The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of
realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. The R.A.D.
System is a comprehensive course for women that begins with
awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while
progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training.
R.A.D. is not a Martial Arts program. Our courses are
taught by certified R.A.D. instructors and provide you with
a workbook / reference manual. This manual outlines the entire
Physical Defense Program for reference and continuous personal
growth. TheR.A.D. System of Physical Defense is currently
being taught nationwide. The growing, wide spread acceptance
of this system is primarily due to the ease, simplicity, and
effectiveness of our tactics, solid research, and unique teaching
methodology. The Rape Aggression Defense System is dedicated
to teaching women defensive concepts and techniques against
various types of assault, by utilizing easy, effective and
proven self-defense. Our system of realistic defense will
provide women with the knowledge to make an educated decision
about resistance.
Finally, a physical defense program for women that:
- Offers no-nonsense, practical techniques of defense;
- Researched the effects of "The Fight or Flight
Syndrome";
- Offers advanced self-defense courses that build upon
the physical defense system;
- Provides realistic and dynamic hands-on training; and
- Provides students with a comprehensive Reference Manual
