On Friday November 7, 2009, units with the Harris County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a single motorcycle crash. Upon arrival it was determined that a Hispanic male was traveling eastbound in the parking lot of a shopping center and attempted a motorcycle stunt referred to as a "stoppie." A stoppie is where the rider applies the front brake enough to cause the rear wheel to be lifted off the ground. The rider lost control of the motorcycle and the motorcycle vaulted over on to the top of the motorcycle throwing the rider forward. The male struck his head on a brick wall and was found by EMS to have no signs of life.
The crash remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Section.
