On Wednesday, November 04, 2009, at approximately 00:15 hours the Complainant was lying on the northwest bound lane of the 11700 block of Grant Road, due to a previous crash. A white GMC van was traveling northwest bound on Grant Road and struck the Complainant as he laid on the roadway. The lighting in the area was poor and the Complainant was wearing dark clothing, according to first responders. The driver of the van stated he swerved to avoid striking the Complainant, but struck him with the left wheels. The Complainant was transported to a local hospital, via ground ambulance, where he succumbed to his injuries. This crash is being investigated by the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Traffic Enforcement Section.
