On 11-02-2009 at approximately 1745 hours the defendant Larry Womack was observed operating a motor vehicle e/b in the 10300 block of Cossey Road in north Harris County. At the same time Sheryl Edwards was walking westbound in the grass on the north shoulder of the roadway with her grandchildren 4 yoa Kaylee Angel and 6 yoa Makaylin Angel. Womack was intoxicated and by reason of his intoxication he failed to drive in a single lane and left the roadway on the south side. Womack then attempted to gain control of his vehicle and re-entered the roadway traveling n/e where he over corrected and lost control of his vehicle and rolled it onto its top. Womack's vehicle continued n/e and partially left the roadway on the north side and the vehicle struck Edwards and Makaylin Angel. Makaylin Angel was transported to Willowbrook Methodist Hospital where she was pronounced Dead due to injuries sustained in the collision. Edwards was treated at the scene. Kaylee Angel was uninjured.Larry Eugene Womack was transported by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was determined to be intoxicated. Harris County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Womack and charged him with Intoxication Manslaughter.
