Mission Statement

The Harris County Sheriff's Office Domestic Violence Unit is committed to the pursuit of excellence. A thorough and timely investigation of crimes reported to the Domestic Violence Unit will be conducted. At all times investigations will conform to the laws and constitution of the State of Texas and the United States.

The Domestic Violence Unit is an investigative unit within the Interpersonal Violence Division of the Harris County Sheriff's Office. This division investigates the following types of cases in which the complainant and suspect are spouses or former spouses, household or former household members, current or former intimate partners or current or a former boyfriend/girlfriend:

  • Assault and Aggravated Assault
  • Harassment
  • Terroristic Threat
  • Violation of Protective Order
  • Interference with Emergency Telephone Call
  • Burglary with Intent to Commit Assault
  • Stalking

Cases referred to the Domestic Violence Unit are assigned to a Detective who will contact the complainant to schedule appointments or interviews necessary to conduct the criminal investigation. Contact Information for the Domestic Violence Unit is as follows:
