Auto Theft Initiative - Greenspoint Mall

On Saturday, October 24, 2009, the Harris County Sheriff's Office Auto Theft Unit will be joining Houston Police Department and Pasadena Police Department at an Auto Theft Initiative at Greenspoint Mall parking lot, 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. These three agencies are grantees under the Texas Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority and not only investigate auto theft and burglaries but also work in a collaborated effort to provide public awareness. Auto theft prevention information and services will be offered at this event to include V.I.N. etching which will be provided by AAA. Theft deterrent devices will be displayed by various vendors to provide the public with an opportunity to become more familiar with both old and new technology. Registration for the H.E.A.T. (Help End Auto Theft) program will be available free of charge. Remember, auto theft effects everyone due to the rising cost of automobile insurance. Make plans to attend this event!
